VAGPD BH PROGRAM

A Safe Place While You Take the Next Step
When a Veteran is experiencing homelessness, moving directly into permanent housing isn’t always possible. The VA’s Grant and Per Diem Bridge Housing (VAGPD BH) Program creates that in-between step, a stable place to stay while permanent housing is secured.

How It Works

With VA funding El-Ada provides:

  • Temporary housing in a safe, structured environment

  • Case management to help Veterans maintain stability after housing is secured

  • Services that support increased income, improved skills, and long-term independence

The goal of bridge housing is to help Veterans stabilize, prepare, and successfully transition into permanent housing.

Who Can Use Bridge Housing

Veterans must already be enrolled in a permanent housing program:

  • SSVF (Supportive Services for Veteran Families)

  • VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing)

  • Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program
