WEATHERIZATION

The Weatherization Assistance Program assists income-eligible families and individuals by reducing their heating/cooling costs and improving the safety of their homes by providing energy efficiency measures.

The installed measures may include insulation of walls, ceilings, and floors; insulation materials; repair or replacement of heating systems, hot water units, windows and doors and measures addressing the participant's health and safety. Measures may vary by project.

APPLYING FOR WEATHERIZATION

Determine Eligibility: Eligibility for our weatherization program is based on gross income for one month of all household members.

Open an Application: Eligible households with active SNAP (formally known as Food Stamps) can complete an application over the phone. For clients who do not receive SNAP, the application options include online (for Boise residents), email, pick-up from one of our offices, and in some cases, mail. Outreach is available for disabled and elderly clients who cannot drive.

Complete an Application: To complete an application, households must submit income verification for each household member with income. Households must also provide demographic information about each member of their household. Applying for weatherization does not guarantee dwelling eligibility.

Call (208) 322-1242 with any questions.
